Teaching Principles
Condition Players Physically
• Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction & Quickness
Players are tested twice a year - January & June. There are
5 different areas of athleticism that are used to test each
athlete. Players are then instructed in ways to improve the
overall athletic ability to become better athletes. The
players will be trained in the same Tom Shaw performance
program as used by Alex Rodriguez, Johnny Damon, and A.J.
Peirzynski.

Bio-Mechanically

Bio-Mechanical efficiency
Players will also be
filmed twice a year by high speed video cameras from
Bio-Kinetics Research & Development. After
the video has been captured we will then load it on to our
computers for analysis and comparison with some of the best
professional in the game.
Train Players Mentally &
Emotionally

Mental Toughness
Baseball has often been called a chess match at 90 miles per
hour. More often than not the other team is not as
responsible for beating your team as the game of baseball
itself. This game cannot only beat you but can beat you up
mentally. Baseball is an emotional game full of failures.
As the old saying goes if you only fail seven out of ten
times you can be a millionaire playing it. The Highlander
program will go to great lengths to make sure that each and
ever player has a greater understanding of the game and how
it should be played as well as how to deal with its
emotional highs and lows.
